98 Booklets of Crochet Square Blocks on the Wall, 98 Booklets of Squares…

I can’t help myself. I think I can turn any idea into a new song by exploiting the lyrics. It’s a bad habit. It even extends to bizarre tv references (?) It’s like my brain calls up every reference of the word it can think of …but I digress…

98 booklets of, “” have sold in the last 2+ weeks which is just so awesome! Thanks so much to those of you who purchased the booklet. I was touched to hear that people were buying it “just because.” They’d heard about the effort to help Pam Gillette, a crochet designer surviving breast cancer, and they felt compelled to help buy making the purchase. AWESOME! Since 100% of the proceeds goes directly to Pam to pay off her mounting medical bills, every bit counts.

If you aren’t on the NexStitch newsletter list – and why aren’t you? - I sent out a newsletter with links to the some of the designer’s blogs along with images of the designs they created. Here’s the list:

ELLEN GORMLEY: “What do knitters and crocheters do when they want to send love? They make a square.”

TRACIE BARRETT: “We also decided easily as a group that we, the individual designers, wanted no money for this. We wanted the proceeds to go to Pam. All of them.”

ANGELA BEST: “Every twist and turn was made with love and hope that we could do the Mistress of crochet cables proud.”

GWEN BLAKLEY KINSLER: “Now that our booklet is released and selling for a good cause, I am proud and elated that I chose to be a part of this honorable crochet task!”

MARTY MILLER: “The nice thing about this pattern book is that you can use any of the 24 different designs. All of them, or some of them. You can use any colors you want. You can personalize the afghan and learn how to make crocheted cables, all at the same time!”

KAREN RATTO-WHOOLEY: “I cannot tell you how excited I am to be a part of this project. You all know how committed I am to finding a cure for Breast Cancer!”

ROBYN CHACHULA: “…us crochet designers are quite a tight knit family and always are there to support each other, even though in most cases we have never met in person!”

VASHTI BRAHA: “(My square is) called “Brighíd’s Willow” because Pam loves Celtic cables, so the name has an Old Celtic healing theme.”

  5. [...] a tasty reference to a tv show theme song from my childhood. I can’t help it. As I’ve stated in previously, my brain is wired like this: I say, think, or hear a word, and my brain tries to find a reference [...]
