Day Four. Four down (well, sorta), three to go. You have to know that I’m counting each day as a victory, crossing it off like school kids until the last day of the school year.
Roxie is learning to adapt with her cone. She can get to the food in her little food bowl now without help. And she’s learned that she’s much more comfortable hanging her head over the edge of places – the stairs, a box, the printer, whatever – than to try to plop her paws under her chin. Or…leaning against things.
And she’s learned one other trick too: the lingering taste of Fancy Feast is all over the cone so it’s like the dinner that keeps on giving. She’s oddly found the only positive thing that I can think of in having to adorn herself with a giant, plastic cone around her head.
She spends her day looking out what we call, “TV #1″ (the back window) and “TV #2″ (the front window). TV #1 sports all kinds of wildlife including a couple of groundhogs and bunnies. They’re fun to watch because they hang around longer than squirrels, birds, and other cats.
Soon, she’ll be back outside with all the other wild life. Until then, she has some major cone licking and sleeping to do.
ZZZZZzzzzzzz.
