Dee, as in “Crocheting with Dee,” just informed a group of us that Interweave has a new and they’re running an affiliate program too. Interesting. I signed up. I think I’d rather support those who support my beloved craft, than support Amazon, the giant of all giants. If you’re interested, you can check out the here.
Even if you’re not a website or blog owner like myself, this is a cool move on the part of Interweave. They’re now selling books and patterns online. That’s right! You can buy individual patterns from some back issues of Interweave Crochet right in their (and IK if you’re a knitter) and not have to buy the whole magazine.
And as Annie Modesit mentioned several times on her blog, Interweave was very generous in compensating those designers whose patterns are sold in the online store. Their move to pay beyond the cost of the initial payment given to designers was a bold industry move that many designers were not only excited about, but appreciative of. It could have all gone down like Hollywood, but it didn’t. And I for one am thankful for that.
So, go out and support those who support your craft. Interweave is one such company.
