Today is the last day before Drew, Pam, and I head to Burbank for our upcoming taping of Uncommon Threads. I still have a laundry list of things to do before the shoot (plus, I need to do the laundry!) I’m still working on step outs for the projects. I’m just about done with one of them. Hurrah! I don’t like to cut it close, but I had a problem late last week with yarn.
You see, Michaels has been selling Patons Grace for several years now – no problems. I went there on Friday to get some, and they had none. I ran to AC Moore. None. I freaked out and began to panic. I made a list of every Micahel’s and Joann’s in the state of NJ and began calling all of them, with the intention of going to any one store which had what I needed. Actually, I needed two different colors of this yarn, so there was the chance of driving to 2 different locations.
To make a long story even longer, I wound up finding the one color 1 1/2 hrs. away, but near my parents house. The other I found an hour north of me. In the meantime, the stress from the yarn fiasco caused me to get a cold sore. Every get one of those? Gawd, they suck. And I just wasn’t havin’ it. I woke up to one Sunday morning and what doctor is open then? I ran to the clinic, which actually gives the best service I’ve ever had. Anyway, they gave me free samples of Valtrex, which I didn’t know you could take for cold sores (I’m hittin’ those people up if I get one again!). So, I think the cold sore can best explain the state of panic I was in. It’s fading away now. Yay!
And now I’m rushing to finish all these step outs, which weren’t supposed to be a last minute thing. I’ll get’em done today and pack tonight. I just don’t like last minute ANYTHING.
Off to get the laundry going… I’ll update later.
