Free Crochet Video Tutorials: Learn to Crochet Video Series Cluster Stitch ("cs") Description: A cluster is a group of stitches joined at the top by grouping half doubles, doubles, trebles and so on. Some patterns refer to stitches joined at both the top and bottom as clusters, but are in fact, either bobbles, puffs, or popcorns. Clusters are unique because they can be used to create decorative patterns and shape garments by making decreases in the work. To create one, work up a stitch such as a double, until two loops remain on the hook. Then, create another double in the next stitch until two loops remain. Continue picking up new doubles and working until the last two loops, until you have the desired amount on the hook. Then, yarn over and draw through all the loops to join all the stitches at the top. Directions: To cs with 3 dc's - *YO, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a loop, YO, draw though two loops* repeat from * to * 2 more times, YO, and draw through all remaining loops on hook See our Copyright Policy regarding NexStitch™ Videos |
