Free Crochet Video Tutorials: Learn to Crochet Video Series Changing Yarn Skeins Description: One technique that is important to learn early on is how to properly change skeins of yarn. A smooth transition from one skein to the next is essential for proper presentation of the crocheted piece. It's also important that yarn tails are hidden within the work and do not come undone. Directions: To change colors, work up the next stitch until there are two loops remaining. Drop the yarn being worked and pick up the new color, allowing for a long tail to hang in the back of the work. Draw the new yarn through the remaining loops on the hook. To hide the end of the yarn skeins, insert the hook in the next stitch, allowing the yarn tails to remain above the hook, and continue performing whatever stitch is required. Work across the row while allowing all yarn tails to be "captured" in the work. See our Copyright Policy regarding NexStitch™ Videos |
